Free Pitching Clinics Start Tonight

First Clinic is tonight at Clearview Elementary School
12635 Builders Rd, Herndon, VA 20170
Sundays (April 23, April 30, May 7, May 21, May 28).
Times: 10U Age group and Below - 6pm to 6:50pm

You must provide a catcher for your pitcher. If the catcher you provide (teammate or sibling) is under 18, they must wear catchers gear for safety.
Coach Jordan Foster, a former HRYS Commissioner and invaluable asset to our community, is running the clinics assisted by several HRYS 16U Glory players. I could never do Coach Jordan's resume justice, so check out her website at
or follow her on Facebook here:
She is also available for private lessons.

Photo Day April 30th!

Pictures catch a slice of time and freeze it for us. We've arranged for Glossy Finish by Lifetouch to bring professional photographers to capture these precious memories of our daughters. This year, we've negotiated a few special incentives.

Order forms will be available at Photo Day, but now you can skip that manual process and order directly on our secure site.

Please click the Glossy Finish / Lifetouch Special Events graphic to be taken to their secure Online Photo Registration system.

Inside you'll find detailed instructions on how to use this simple and easy to navigate application.

Applications for Dalling Scholarship Open

As the new commissioner, I've had to learn many new things in a short amount of time to build upon the work of those who've come before me: Bob Thomas, Jordan Foster, and Carlos Soto. I've stumbled here and there, but none so much as with the Dalling Scholarship. I never met Jeff Dalling, but I respect the effort he put into HRYS during its formative years. Bob Thomas, a former Commissioner and man I admire, thought of Jeff as a gift and that should speak volumes to us all. To learn a little bit more about Jeff Dalling and his impact on the HRYS community, go here.

In the past, the Jeff Dalling Scholarship has been awarded at the Opening Day ceremonies. I failed to open the application in time to make the presentation at the Opening Day ceremonies feasible. I will be opening the application tomorrow with a May 25th deadline. It is open to all High School seniors who have played at least three seasons with HRYS and are planning on attending college, university, or a trade school. To learn more about the criteria and to find the application, go here.

We honor Jeff and his contribution to our organization and I apologize and take full responsibility for the delay.
